GOAT
THE FIRST AI-POWERED STREET ARTIST
GOAT is a New York–based contemporary artist whose practice moves between physical objects, street interventions, photography, and artificial intelligence. The practice began with a 365-day public-art project: 365 small and medium canvases featuring sneaker silhouettes were left across New York City for strangers to discover. The project connected physical movement through the city with questions of consumption, waste, digital ownership, and environmental responsibility. This act of placing art directly into public life later evolved into We Love NYC. AI-generated images were transformed into handmade stencils and reproduced with spray paint throughout the city. Artificial intelligence entered the physical streets, while New Yorkers and visitors became part of the work by encountering, photographing, and sharing it.Today, GOAT continues to evolve alongside artificial intelligence. Working in New York and experimenting with emerging technologies, the artist explores urgent human concerns and the new questions and challenges created by technological change. The methods continue to evolve, but the relationship between the artist, the artwork, and New York remains constant.
